August 26th is National Dog Day!! So make sure you get a bone or special squeaky or the special Canine in your life!! In Tim Burtons Frankenweenie young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended sometimes monstrous situations. I can imagine my sons doing the same thing!!
I love the joy that having animals can bring, we have both Dogs and Cats in our household. We recently adopted our 2nd dog and though it is hard to have a puppy in the house again it is totally worth it. I found Duke at a Petco adoption day, only giving a second look ( because I try to walk briskly away from these things as I am a sucker) because he reminded me so much of our other dog Lilah.
Lilah is a German Shorthaired Pointer and one of the most loving dogs I have ever met she is wonderful with the kids ( she thinks she is one of them) and is one of our family. When I walked up to the cage holding Duke I instantly fell in love. You could tell that he wasn’t a pure bred dog, but his face, colors and loving eyes won me over so fast that soon I found myself loading him into my mothers car. Since then he has quickly become one of our family, and you can look at him and know how truly grateful he is to be here.
