Some days there is just to much going on to stop and make a fantastic home cooked meal from scratch, but there is no reason that you shouldn’t be able to get a high quality frozen meal that tastes like you have slaved over the stove for hours. I am very picky about what I will make, being scarred by some not so great tasting frozen meals when I was offered to try out Bertolli’s new line I was hopeful and skeptical all at once.
As soon as my coupons to test out my meals ( and some to giveaway) came in I grabbed my purse and went to my local grocery store. I was happy to see that they had a huge variety for me to choose from and grabbed the ones that I wanted to try and thought my family would enjoy.
I have prepared for my family The Italian Sausage and Rigatoni, The Chicken Minestrone soup and the Roasted Chicken Risotto and all I can say is that Bertolli has hit it out of the ballpark with these delicious meals.
When I first opened the bag of Chicken Minestrone soup even though it was frozen it smelled fantastic, the directions super easy to follow but how it tasted was the question.
I of course sampled it before it got into the bowl and was blown away by the hearty authentic flavor that was packed into this soup. The huge pieces of vegetables, strips of chicken and noodles make this soup a wonderful meal in itself, for some added bliss grab a loaf of french bread to dunk pieces in the yummy broth.
Next up was the Sausage and Rigatoni and again this was super easy to prepare requiring nothing at all and smelled amazing while it was cooking. You can see the nice sized pieces of Italian sausage before it even got heated up!!
The sauce and sausage had just enough spice and the Rigatoni was cooked to perfection, my entire family was thrilled with this dish and they have already asked more then once if I could make it again.
Now being Italian it is hard for me to say that I have never had a Risotto but I was more the excited to sample the Roasted Chicken Risotto that was offered. The chicken was perfect and the creamy sauce blended beautifully with the asparagus and mushrooms. This dish was quickly gobbled up by everyone and not an unhappy face was amongst the crowd.
