Frankenweenie a Spooktacular Movie You Wont Want to Miss!

As you all know I was lucky enough to be asked to attend the White Carpet premiere of Frankenweenie at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles. This truly made for a movie experience, I mean how do you compare watching a movie less then 2 rows away from the actors who voiced the characters.

Frankenweenie is a remake of the short film, with the same name, that Tim Burton made back in 1984.. Knowing that he could make so much more of the story (That is  parody of the Original Frankenstein) he revisited the idea , added bits of his own childhood to the story , with a dash of stop motion animation, and quicker then you can say “Its Alive” a spooktacular film is born!! ( It actually took much longer )

Frankenweenie is the first of its kind being a stop motion animated film, that is in 3d and in Black and White. But it’s not only the fantastic look of this movie that makes it special, but a heartwarming story about a boy and his dog (mixed in with some humor of course) that makes Frankenweenie a movie that you and your kids will enjoy.

When I first saw Frankenweenie all I could think of was how much my 10 year old Matt was going to enjoy this movie, the characters are realistic and funny, the animation is spot on and the combined efforts of Disney’s magic and Tim Burton’s vision makes this a must see movie!!

When I returned home I was happy to see that all of my children had taken an interest in Frankenweenie, which was perfect because I had gotten them all T shirts and other fun things from the movie to enjoy ( Post on the fun stuff coming later).  I didn’t want to complete my review of the movie until my son had seen it, and as luck had it I was able to take him to the Chicago screening just a few days ago.

Just as I suspected he loved it, I enjoyed listening to him and the other kids in the theater giggle and snort at the humor and fun that is Frankenweenie. When all was finished Matt exclaimed that “He LOVED it” and then went on to tell me that he wanted to be a scientist just like Victor(I’ll have to keep an eye out now).

I love this movie, the characters are fantastic ( I love Weird Girl and Mr. Whiskers) the story is great and you can tell that a great amount of care and love went into making this movie.  I plan on taking Kenna ( who is 3) and Mike ( who is 14) to see it this weekend and think that they will enjoy it as well. Frankenweenie is everything you would expect from Tim Burton with a dash of Disney magic, and is perfect to see this fall just in time for Halloween!!

Not sure if your going to go see Frankenweenie… Just ask Mr. Whiskers!!
