We have all bought them at one point or another, the amazing looking and smelling rotisserie chickens that we see in the stores but what would be be like to do something similar at home. For the longest time it seemed like it would be near impossible and would take forever to get my chicken or heck any other food I wanted to try with a rotisserie to look and taste as good as what I could get somewhere else. So when the amazing people from Ronco sent me their Stainless Steel 5500 series Rotisserie I was slightly intimidated but also quite curious on how I would do.
With high hopes I set off to the store to purchase a few chickens to make dinner, not knowing that this would change the way I cook forever. Setting up the Rotisserie is a breeze and in no time flat I was ready to season my chicken and get them roasting. Almost instantly the house was filled with the amazing aroma of roasting chicken and everyone, including the dogs were drooling. The chickens didn’t take long to cook and before I knew it they were ready to take out.
The chickens were evenly roasted and exceptionally juicy, just looking at them made your mouth water. All plates were easily cleaned that night and many wanted seconds, which led me to wonder… What else could I Rotisserie??
Turns out just about anything!! I have since made a pork roast, a roast beef, some potatoes, and of course more chicken. Each one came out perfectly and finding out that cooking the food this way was a healthier option ( since it isn’t cooking in its own fat) made me even happier to use it.
I look forward to the many many dishes I will continue to make with the help of my rotisserie and anxiously await cooking my Thanksgiving turkey with it also!
