Tomorrow is the big day and I feel like a kid at Christmas waiting in anticipation of the release of Wreck It Ralph in theaters everywhere! When I was in LA I had the honor of meeting the masterminds of this movie as well as screening it at the Disney Animation studios own theater. It was then that I knew this would quickly become a favorite of mine as well as my children. Just recently I was able to take my son to our local screening of Wreck It Ralph and enjoyed all of the laughs, smiles, and dancing in his seat that came with the movie. When it was finished he turned to me and asked if they were going to be making a sequel, I explained to him that they needed to release the first one in theaters before they could even think of a sequel.
The movie opens with Ralph, telling you a little bit about himself and the life that he leads in the arcade. He tells you about the past 30 years that he has been there and how many games have come and gone. But then reflects on the game he is in as well, expressing his want to be loved instead of feared and hated by the other characters in his game wanting ultimately to be adored as much as Fix It Felix Jr the hero and namesake of the game he is in. All of this is explained while he is sharing in a Badanon meeting to some of your favorite video game villians ( Think Bowser and the ghosts from Pacman)
Without revealing to much of the movie I will tell you that Ralph embarks on a journey of epic nature to prove to himself and others that he can be more then a bad guy. Game jumping through many different worlds you get a taste of what the world he lives in is like, and meet some amazing characters(Sargent Calhoun and Vanellope are just a few) who help make this movie truly spectacular!! This movie is fantastic for big kids like myself and for little kids, bringing humor for both and a bit of nostalgia from when “Mom played video games”.
You will fall in love with the characters as well as the movie and it may just become a favorite of yours as well. Matt left the theater loving every minute, wanting to see it again, and doing what he called the Fix it Felix Jr dance!!
Wreck It Ralph Smashes into theaters tomorrow November 2nd and your not going to want to miss this fantastic movie!!!!
